Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 April 2026  ·  Dad-Link Technologies Limited

Plain English summary: Use the service honestly, do not misuse it, and understand it is a self-help tool not a medical service. Pay for what you subscribe to. You can cancel anytime. We can suspend or close accounts that are misused. These terms are governed by English law.

1. About these terms

These terms of service govern your use of Stop The Loop, including the website at stoptheloop.co.uk and the web application accessible at stoptheloop.co.uk/app (together, the "Service").

The Service is operated by Dad-Link Technologies Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (the "Company", "we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, which also form part of our agreement with you.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Stop The Loop. By using the Service you confirm that you are 18 or over.

Stop The Loop is available to users in the United Kingdom and, where technically accessible, internationally. We make no representations that the Service is appropriate or available for use in all jurisdictions.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. Accounts created with false information may be suspended or terminated without notice.

3. Not a medical service

Important: Stop The Loop is a self-guided mental wellness tool, not a medical device, clinical service, or regulated healthcare provider. It is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological treatment. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, severe anxiety, suicidal thoughts, or any condition requiring clinical care, please contact your GP, call NHS 111, or contact Samaritans on 116 123.

The techniques and content provided through Stop The Loop are based on established CBT and ACT frameworks and are intended for educational and self-help purposes. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The AI-guided session feature generates responses based on your inputs. These responses are not provided by a qualified therapist, psychologist, or medical professional. You should not rely on them as professional clinical guidance.

We strongly encourage all users to maintain contact with appropriate healthcare professionals alongside any self-guided wellness practice.

4. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@stoptheloop.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

You may only hold one account. You may not create accounts on behalf of others or allow others to use your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we have reason to believe it has been used fraudulently, in breach of these terms, or in a manner that is harmful to other users or to the Service.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Free tier

A free tier is available with access to a limited set of features as described on the pricing page. The free tier does not require payment details. We reserve the right to modify the features available on the free tier at any time.

Paid subscriptions

Paid subscriptions are available on a monthly basis at £9.99 per month, or on an annual basis at £79 per year. Prices include VAT where applicable. Pricing may change from time to time with reasonable notice provided to existing subscribers.

Subscriptions are billed automatically at the start of each billing period via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from within your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that date. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time within a billing period, except where required by law.

Refunds

If you cancel within 14 days of your first subscription payment and have not made substantial use of the paid features, you are entitled to a full refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To request a refund, contact us at hello@stoptheloop.co.uk within 14 days of payment.

After the 14-day cooling-off period, refunds are at our discretion. We will consider refund requests made in good faith and will not unreasonably refuse them.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you by email. If payment remains outstanding after reasonable attempts to collect it, your account may be downgraded to the free tier or suspended.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service in any of the following ways:

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in our sole judgement, violates these provisions, including suspending or terminating their account and reporting to law enforcement where appropriate.

7. Intellectual property

All content on the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, interface design, code, and AI-generated responses — is owned by or licensed to Dad-Link Technologies Limited and is protected by UK and international intellectual property law.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use only. This licence does not include any right to reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.

You retain ownership of any content you input into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process your inputs for the purpose of providing the guided session responses and storing your session history as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. AI-generated content

The guided session responses generated by our AI are produced automatically based on your inputs and a set of instructions designed to reflect CBT and ACT principles. While we have taken care to design those instructions responsibly, AI-generated responses may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific situation.

You acknowledge that:

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Dad-Link Technologies Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

10. Service availability

We aim to provide the Service continuously but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We will endeavour to provide advance notice of planned maintenance where possible.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where we discontinue a paid feature, we will provide reasonable notice and a proportionate refund where applicable.

11. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party services including Stripe for payments, Anthropic for AI processing, Firebase for infrastructure, and SendGrid for email. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. Those links are provided for information only. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content of any third-party website.

12. Termination

You may close your account at any time from within your account settings. Closing your account will cancel any active subscription at the end of the current billing period and will initiate deletion of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you breach these terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we reasonably believe your use of the Service poses a risk to other users or to the Service itself.

On termination for any reason, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so, including sections 7 (intellectual property), 8 (AI-generated content), 9 (limitation of liability), and 14 (governing law).

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

If you do not agree to the updated terms, you may close your account before the changes take effect.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We are committed to resolving disputes fairly. If you have a complaint, please contact us at hello@stoptheloop.co.uk in the first instance and we will endeavour to resolve it promptly.
